Anita Whelan

Somatic Experiencing & Craniosacral Therapist

Anita Whelan is a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner and body-based therapist who works with Goodsky to support nervous system regulation and trauma recovery through gentle, trauma-informed approaches delivered via the body.

Anita brings a deeply embodied and integrative approach to care, working through the body to support healing across physical, emotional, and psychological dimensions.

She holds Diplomas in Craniosacral Therapy and Remedial Massage, and draws on her experience as a Yoga Teacher to support attuned, regulation-focused bodywork. Her training in Biodynamic (Stillness) Touch has refined her capacity to work with subtle physiological and emotional states via the body.

In 2019, Anita completed the full three-year Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner training, followed by Touch Skills for Trauma Therapists with Kathy Kain. She also has experience in the NeuroAffective (NA) Touch approach, which supports repair of developmental trauma through carefully paced, trauma-informed touch.

In practice, Anita works collaboratively with individuals, drawing on a combination of gentle touch-based therapies, indirect myofascial release, somatic practice, movement, craniosacral therapy, and non-touch approaches where appropriate. Sessions are paced carefully, with close attention to safety, consent, and the body’s innate capacity to regulate and restore balance.

At Goodsky, Anita works within a multidisciplinary model, supporting individuals to reconnect with bodily awareness, build nervous system stability, and gently resolve trauma held within the body.
