Goodsky Mental Health Retreat is a private and personalised mental health treatment centre that offers tailored programs for individuals seeking support for mental health challenges. Our approach integrates proven research with emerging science to provide a holistic and comprehensive path to healing, focusing on the mind, body, and nervous system. Our programs are available both in-person at our Sunshine Coast facilities and online, ensuring flexibility and accessibility for all clients.

Who is Goodsky’s mental health retreat for?

It is ideal for those experiencing conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, or chronic stress and for people looking to address issues related to chronic pain and gut health. The retreat is also suitable for teenagers facing mental health difficulties, providing a safe and supportive environment tailored to their unique needs.

Goodsky stands out from other mental health retreats by offering a truly holistic and personalised approach to mental health care. We focus on evidence-based therapies and a bottom-up approach that identifies and addresses the root causes of mental health challenges, rather than just managing symptoms. Our methods are particularly effective for individuals who haven’t found success with traditional talk therapy or conventional mental health treatments.

At Goodsky, we combine the latest scientific research with proven therapeutic practices to create tailored, one-on-one treatment plans. We believe in treating the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—using modalities that engage the nervous system and support healing from within. This approach allows us to provide deep, transformative care that promotes lasting recovery and well-being.

Our personalised care plans are ideal for those who have tried traditional therapies without success and are looking for a more comprehensive and integrated approach to mental health and healing.

Visit our Contact Page for more details.

We do offer a flexible home care program that can be done anywhere, including SydneyMelbourne, Brisbane or overseas. This approach can be more affordable, however it is dependant on your mental health needs. Talk to us to establish the optimal care approach for you or your loved one.

These durations are flexible and can be adjusted based on your individual needs and the level of support required to help you achieve lasting well-being.

Why is there a pre-residential phase?

The pre-residential phase, also known as the discovery phase, is essential for understanding your condition more thoroughly before your residential stay. During this time, we conduct comprehensive testing and diagnostics to identify the underlying causes of your symptoms and connect you with the most suitable therapists. We also gather consented information from your GP and any previous therapists to gain a complete picture of your history, which helps us create a more effective and personalised treatment plan. This preparation ensures that when you begin the residential phase, you are already on the path toward optimal outcomes.

Why can't I find any testimonials on the website?

We’re legally unable to display testimonials on our website due to regulations from the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) regarding the advertising of health services. If you have any questions about our programs or services, we’re more than happy to provide additional details directly.

Attending and Preparing for the Retreat

Can I come to your retreat right away?

While we can begin your program immediately, there is typically a 2-4 week wait for the residential phase. During this waiting period, we initiate treatment and testing with our psychotherapy, medical, and biochemical nutrition teams. This early intervention helps stabilise your systems and prepares you for the residential phase, ensuring you are in a better place by the time you arrive.

How long can I stay at Goodsky for?

The residential phase of our program typically lasts 2-3 weeks, as this timeframe allows us to complete all the necessary treatment and therapies effectively. However, we understand that some individuals may benefit from an extended stay to continue their recovery journey or simply to rest and recharge. If you feel you need more time to focus on your well-being, you are welcome to stay longer, subject to availability. During your stay, you can enjoy the benefits of a customised diet, learn more about cooking and nutrition, and take advantage of the beautiful beaches and surrounding areas to maintain your stretches and exercises. If you wish to extend your stay, please let us know, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Am I going to a mental health retreat with other people?

No, you will not be attending a mental health retreat with other people. Goodsky offers an exclusive program with private accommodation and no group therapy sessions. Our program is designed to provide a highly personalised experience, allowing you to focus entirely on your own healing without distractions. This approach ensures that you have full access to our team’s expertise, with a focus solely on your unique needs and well-being.

What do I eat while I am staying on the program?

This customised approach helps support gut restoration and eliminates any potential roadblocks to your treatment. Your meals will be freshly prepared and delivered daily to your apartment, along with snacks and smoothies if they are part of your treatment protocol. This ensures you receive nourishing and balanced meals designed to enhance your overall well-being during your stay.

My loved one is struggling but doesn't want to seek help. What can I do?

It’s essential that your loved one decides for themselves when they are ready to seek treatment for their mental health. While it can be difficult to watch someone you care about hesitate to take this step, the best thing you can do is offer your unconditional support and let them know that when they are ready, you will be there to help.

If you believe your loved one could benefit from speaking with a professional, we can help connect you with a trusted counsellor or intervention service to explore available treatment options.

Remember, it’s also crucial to look after your own mental health during this time. Engaging with a psychologist or mental health professional can provide you with the support you need to maintain your well-being while navigating this challenging situation.
